Tor-Peders Kapell
was put together by my old friend Jonas Redmo as he had an idea to play "organ-propelled fuzz-injected instrumental beat". First session we had together was actually on my birthday in 2008. Instantly we found each other musically and the songs became a mix of Jonas own compositions and things we improvised on the spot together.
We made a 7" single that featured one of Jonas own surf rock songs and on the flip side our interpretation of a classic khmer rock song, "Kom Nirk Oun Eiy", originally sung by "the golden voice of the capital" Ros Serey Sothea. After the release we played some shows in Sweden as well as the baltic states, before concentrating on making a full LP early 2011. Then in April, the same year we enter Real Music Studio to do mixing and to record the additional two tracks that ended up on the bonus 7". We made our last gig at the Fontaine Festival in Latvia that summer, but just a few days after coming back, Jonas was hit by a car and passed away. So we didn´t have the energy to release the album "Brev från Ederstorp" until May 2014, as the record company insisted. |
