🎶 Ragasphere Live Concert | A Fusion of Hindustani & Carnatic Music at BELONG Festival 2024 🌍🎵 Ragasphere is an innovative musical project where the boundaries of classical Indian music dissolve, blending the two great traditions of India: Hindustani and Carnatic music. This live concert, part of the BELONG Festival, captures the magic of musicians from North and South India coming together to explore the deep connections between these classical forms. In this performance, Ragasphere presents a beautiful fusion of Raag Puriya Dhanashree (Hindustani) and Ragam Pantuvarali (Carnatic), two ragas that share emotional depth and spiritual intensity. Neel-Ganga is a unique fusion of Indian and Egyptian cultures, with music flowing like the waters of the Nile and Ganges, blending and intertwining while honoring their origins.
Just as rivers carry the life-giving waters from mountains to valleys, Neel-Ganga carries musical traditions across generations, from master to disciple. Featuring masters Rabindra Narayan Goswami (sitar) and أحمد الأرنب (Kawala flute), with their disciples KG Westman and Adham Al-sayyad, and the brilliant Heiko Dijker on tabla.

Sitar sessions by Guruji in Italy in November
Take the opportunity to recieve guidance of one of the senior sitar masters of the ancient city of Benares. Pandit Rabindra Narayan Goswami is unique in the way that he has learnt Sitar, Surbahar and vocal from broad spectrum of Gurus of the older generation in the tradition of Maihar Gharana, Imdadkhani Gharana, Bishnupur Gharana and Dagar vani. This means that participants regardless of background and instrument can benefit from an intense weekend of practice in which there will be both group and private sessions. Focus will be on correct treatment of raga and traditional presentation of performance through Alaap Jor Jhala and the improvisations on slow and fast compositions.

Looking forward to coming week with concerts, masterclasses and new collaborations! We will start on Saturday with masterclasses by me and tabla player Suvrat Apte at the University in Esch. Sunday we will present classical afternoon ragas at Vedanza Luxembourg in an intimate acoustic concert. In the week after that we will start a new collaboration called "NAGHMA" with excellent oud player from Egypt Mohamed Abozekry that will result in a video recording and concert at 9 pm at the Nuit De La Culture festival in Belval. After that we will visit France for a classical concert before finishing of with two concerts in Luxembourg, one classical and one together with crazy genius saxophone madman Pierre Cocq-Amann! Thanks to Adham Al-sayyad, Romeo Effe and Alexandra Protopapadakis for making this all possible after a long break from musical travel! Also thank to Swedish Arts Grants Council for support!
